A great vintage throughout Napa Valley. This wine is age-worthy and complex. It also represents great value, buy it by the case!!

This wine should put to rest any doubts about Napa Merlot being the “drink it young only” little brother of Cabernet. It may have more in common with wine made in Pomerol than the no frills Merlot that were fashionable a few years back. Black fruit, saddle leather, earth and oak integration are featured here.

Our 1994 Merlot has more in common with fine Bordeaux than most of the Merlot made in the new world. This is truly Merlot for Cabernet lovers. 1994 was heralded as a classic vintage in Napa Valley and all these years later we can still taste what all the excitement was about. In fact, with black cherry, shaved dark chocolate, cedar box, antique leather, and impressive structure, this wine has come into its own. A wonderful example of aged Merlot.

Our Merlot from 1995 is dark and dense. Serious wine. A good reading wine! We recommend taking a bottle home to your favorite spot, getting out some good cheese and hunker in with one of the classics. Words of warning, these activities (or lack thereof) could result in extreme relaxation followed by the onset of a nap!

This wine represents small batch winemaking at its best! Lush cherry fruit, plum and toasty oak accents with all the depth and character you expect from our hillside vineyards. Drink some now and put some in the cellar. Get it while you can!

This wine drinks like a fine bottle of Bordeaux! Cassis, cocoa, plum and cherry fruit. Like all of Richard’s wines, this one has nice detail and dimension. Finishing with dusty tannins and mineral richness.

The classification Red Table Wine allows us the freedom to blend the ideal wine and expression of each vintage.

Our proprietary red! Exceptionally balanced with a complete aromatic profile. Fleshy red fruit, black raspberry, dusty cherry leading to a medium/full bodied wine with nice texture and length. This blended style of wine is all the rage in the cult wine world; they are robust and yet approachable when young. We blend our best lots into this wine, creating a wine with Diamond Mountain character and broad appeal.

Vibrant color and a warm plum infused nose are the first things you notice here. The fruit is all up front, bright and lip smacking with a touch of green peppercorn on the finish.

This wine will remind you somewhat of its more famous neighbor, Chateau Montelena. Broad baked fruit, solid core, tons of that good old Napa Valley tannin and spice. Grilled Leg of Lamb or Lamb Chops will make for a memorable feast.

You won’t believe how beautifully this Cab Franc is drinking now. Bright fruit and detail with a firm, fleshy mouth-feel. Just enough earthy, antique leather and exotic spice to tell you it has spent some time in the bottle.

Another fine Cab Franc that’s been locked away in our library waiting for some unsuspecting Cab Franc neophyte to wander in. Dazzlingly bright fruit purity and clean berry flavors leave a clean long finish. Duck breast and dried cherry would be a good choice. Give it a try.

If you are not sure which wine to pour with dinner, this Cab Franc will most likely do the trick. It goes well with just about anything! Red raspberry, fresh ground pepper and creamy oak overtones on the nose. Fleshy red plum, red currant and spicy oak on the lip smacking finish.

In great vintages like 2001, it is abundantly clear why Cabernet Franc has become our signature wine! Something about this grape just loves our steep little corner of Diamond Mountain. The 2001 displays uncommonly rich black raspberry color, a rich perfume and berry patch spice.

Gold Medal Winner!! Our 2002 Cabernet Franc may be one of our best vintages since the magnificent 1992 Cabernet Franc, which has just reached its peak this year.

1990 was a classic vintage here in Napa Valley and a great for us. This wine is a classic example of Diamond Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon. There is very little of this wine available and it’s drinking wonderfully now. Get some while you can!

80% Cabernet, 10% Cabernet Franc, 10% Merlot

Full-bodied. Sweet oak blackberry and cherry flavors with a hint of coffee in the finish

A single taste of this wine brings back great memories of just how much fun it was to grow grapes here in the early nineties. Hopefully winegrowing is something we keep getting better at. This wine is one of our favorites, truly a wine made in the vineyard. Classic Cabernet dimension and aging.

It is always fun to check in on a wine as it develops. We are guessing that our ‘96 Cab will reach full maturity sometime around the year 2010. If you buy a case you can taste a couple with each passing year and revel in the change.

Wine Vintages produce an embarrassment of riches here in California’s ideal climate. It’s enough to put a wine scribe out of business or die of boredom. Much has been said in the valley about how the wine media trashed this vintage. We could tell you this vintage is as good as anything we’ve made but nothing is as much of fun as opening a bottle and seeing for yourself! Trademark fresh fruit with loads of spice. Aging wonderfully.

75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Cabernet Franc

Crisp fresh mouth feel, cherry blackberry aroma. Sharp medium long finish.

Our 2001 Cabernet looks vibrant and alive in the glass. The rich dark colors with ruby highlights are inviting! The wine is aromatic and youthful with cherry, red plum and vanilla spice. On the palate the flavors are focused and balanced. Ripe and rich cherry, a touch of chocolate, black currant and just the right amount of new oak.

This inaugural vintage of the Coeur de Leon is a classic blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc.

Exceptionally balanced with a complete aromatic profile. Fleshy red fruit, black raspberry, bright red cherry leading to a medium/full bodied wine with nice texture and length. This blended style of wine is all the rage in the cult wine world; they are robust and yet approachable when young.

The wine will gain complexity and pick up a honeyed, nutty character as time goes by. That’s right, Semillon will age quite nicely!
