2006 Six-Bottle Sangiovese Special
Our first Sangiovese ever, the 2006 vintage is made from fruit grown biodynamically by Donald Harms in his vineyards in the Oak Knoll district. Blended with 5% of our estate Cabernet Franc, this beautiful wine has an elegant bouquet of raspberry, strawberry and crushed violets, with beautiful berry fruit on the forepalate, and notes of thyme, lavender and basil midpalate. Though a lighter-bodied red, this wine is a remarkably versatile partner with a wide variety of meats: from pork, to fish, to beef, to pheasant, to game, as well as a fantastic partner for pastas or stews---and will drink beautifully over the next six to ten years.
