| | Scam! Nov 30, 2009 | I felt that I had been duped into going there because Graeser is having a contest where members of TripAdvisor can win a free case of wine if they post a review on this site and are randomly selected. My personal feeling is that the contest defeats the integrity of TripAdvisor. Having recently spent 9 days in Northern California on vacation, I found the information on TripAdvisor and several other sites helped me plan an outstanding vacation and hope that it will continue to be a source of unbiased consumer feedback rather than a marketing scam. In addition, the wines were just OK. |
| | Confused Nov 22, 2009 | Graeser doesn't seem to be a nominee for the Best of the Bay, despite what the sidebar says. Confused. |
| | SusanB Oct 29, 2009 | 2004 Simba's Sinful Zinfandel - My husband and I have visited Napa, Santa Rosa, Calistoga and Sonoma. Graeser Winery is one of our favorite experiences and memories out of all our trips to the wine country. We tasted Simba's Sinful Zinfandel right out of the barrel and have been buying it ever since. It is THE BEST!!!! We also love Jack's Cab. The hospitality we experienced while visiting the winery was top notch. We will visit again next time we are in Calistoga. |
| | LindaS Sep 5, 2009 | I would really prefer to email you personally, but you don't have that on your site, evidently. We've been to Napa, Sonoma and areas around the two 5 times in the last 8 years. We stayed in Calistoga twice. We never heard of your winery and were never directed there by our innkeepers. I understand that you have Platypus Tours as a client. Well, that certainly is a good way to attract newcomers to your place, whether they buy or not. However, on Tripadvisor, it has been announced that you are using the practice of promising free wine to those who post glowing reviews of your place and your wine. btw- a $15 tasting fee is very high for a boutique winery! There are two honest reviewers who have explained that on tripadvisor. It might not be illegal, but it certainly is unscrupulous. These types of shady business dealings usually come back and bite you in the proverbial butt. Have a nice day! |
| | DonC Jul 16, 2009 | 2008 Succulence - It's what the name suggests. THE best after dinner wine I have ever tasted. You start experiencing this heavenly nectar about 6 inches away from your face. It's scent draws you in and then the taste takes you away. Then it lingers on the pallete reminding you that what you just experienced was real. If you drink just one dessert wine in your life let it be this one. |
