New Tasting Room, New Team

Well, here I am after short hiatus from blogging and I was supposed to bring you this sooner, but what the hell—I'm back now, and a lot of changes have been made since I last talked to you all. Rebecca supervised the remodeling of the tasting room: the bar has been extended from fourteen feet to forty feet; the walls are freshly painted with new colors; the floors are refinished and stained; there is new lighting; and finally, the wall separating the tasting room from the event room has been removed, thus creating a much larger space. But don't take my word for it—come by and see for yourself. Bring your lunch, buy a little wine, spend a little time, and enjoy the unique ambiance created here at Graeser Winery.

Rebecca is still masterminding the entire operation, allowing me to put my foot down and have my way as long as she gives first approval. We recently added three new people to our team: Desiré Espinoza (Director of Sales), Jim Derrickson (Director of Marketing) and Bruce Harrison (Tasting Room Manager). Desiré will apply her considerable experience and skill to increase restaurant sales of our wine as well as help with the tasting room and tours. Jim will draw on his past experience to market the winery itself and increase the number of visitors that come here each day. Bruce will  bring his vast knowledge of wines to our tasting room and give you, our loyal customers, the best wine tasting experience you could imagine. And Rebecca, of course (what would we do without her?) will continue to concentrate on special events and celebrations as well as her regular duties of keeping the winery on track.

So, my friends, be sure to keep in touch. And remember: you can either make the dust or eat the dust.

My wife and I visited Graeser on 6/2/09 and had a wonderful time. We met both of the dogs and spent a fair bit of time in the tasting room. It's quite nice. Most important, this was our favorite winery while we visited Napa. We got to taste a 94 and 98 Cabernet that were just wonderful.

My wife, Jennifer and two of our friends, Norm and Cheri visited your winery on June 2nd. We were on a bus tour of vineyards and your winery was the second stop of the day. It might as well have been the only stop for the day. Pulling up to the winery the scenery, the buildings and the atmosphere take you to another time.
Every wine we tasted was superb. Especially the dessert wine. The name truely captures the essence of whats inside the bottle. Every person who we talked to was very happy to be there. We really enjoyed our talk with Richard. Jack and Jill (Their two dogs) are masters of mooch at the picnic tables, which made us feel right at home. We love dogs. This winery completely out-classed the rest of the wineries we visited that day. We will be ordering wine from here for years to come.

I would really prefer to email you personally, but you don't have that on your site, evidently. We've been to Napa, Sonoma and areas around the two 5 times in the last 8 years. We stayed in Calistoga twice. We never heard of your winery and were never directed there by our innkeepers. I understand that you have Platypus Tours as a client. Well, that certainly is a good way to attract newcomers to your place, whether they buy or not. However, on Tripadvisor, it has been announced that you are using the practice of promising free wine to those who post glowing reviews of your place and your wine. btw- a $15 tasting fee is very high for a boutique winery! There are two honest reviewers who have explained that on tripadvisor. It might not be illegal, but it certainly is unscrupulous. These types of shady business dealings usually come back and bite you in the proverbial butt. Have a nice day!
